For Min. 6 Pax, Max 10 in Group. p Accommodation: UMA (Mentawai Traditional House) Group Leader: English Speaking Guide Day 1:Padang-Muara SIBERUT Arrive in Minangkabau International Airport, Padang. Your guide will welcome you and bring you up directly to your hotel to take a rest before leaving Padang by ferry. Normaly Boarding at 8pm on the ferry, overnight on board. Dinner on board. The trip is about 10 hours, depending on the weather and you will arrive in MuaraSiberut in early morning. Day 2: MuaraSiberut-jungle In early morning, taking breakfast in a small restaurant (warung) while your guide buying the food, the drinking water and getting permit from the local government. Then take a small motorized canoe and walk in the muddy jungle to reach the Mentawai village (few hours, depend on the level of the river). A moderate level of fitness is required for the trekking, the way can be slippery and muddy. Spending the rest of the day in the Mentawai traditional house called “Uma”, to know more the family who welcomed you. The conditions are very basics, you sleep on the floor with mosquitos net and thin mattress and have shower in the river. But you will live a unique experience by sharing your difference and learn about a new culture in the jungle. The Mentawai live in total harmony with the nature, and are animists. Day 3 to 4:Life in the jungle with the Mentawai Share the daily life with Mentawai tribe and activities such hunting in the jungle, fishing, making poison arrow, making rattan basket, see the processing of bark clothes, cooking, see the processing sago” preparation, their principal daily food, trekking in the jungle, and if you are lucky, attend a traditionnal ceremony with chaman according their religion. During these days, you will live as a Mentawai, shower in the river, sleep on the floor, eat with them, share and communicate with them. Day 5:Spend last moment with the Mentawai +Departure After lunch take motorized canoe and back to MuaraSiberut. Have rest and shower than take the Ferry back to PADANG at around 7pm. Overnight on board and dinner. Day 6 : Padang and good bye Arrive in Padang early morning around 6. We drop you to your hotel to take a rest. In the afternoon visiting interesting places in Padang untill we drop you to your next destination. ________________________________________________
